The external cover of the programme is an oversized red matt card printed with black ink. The internal pages are a smooth cream paper printed with green, dark blue and black ink. The oversized card cover has kept the internal paper pages of the programme in excellent condition.

On page one of the programme internal pages contains a majestic photo of the front of the theatre and below is a photo of the entrance hall. To the right of those photos is a very ornate photo of Mr J.B. Mulholland, the owner and general manager of the Kings theatre. Page 3 displays photos of the grand foyer and images of the grand staircase and box office, these photos are extraordinarily clear and showcase the grandeur and luxury of the theatre.

There are many more beautifully detailed photos throughout the programme including the Ladies Salon, drawing room and so many more depicting comfort and luxury.

The programme also incorporates ‘Ye King’s Kronicle’ , a magazine dedicated to the joys of the theatre, with several interesting and informative articles of the star-studded cast of the time. There are many local London advertisements throughout, and the cast list is presented among advertisements on page 6&7. A delightful programme.

The programmes internal pages are numbered 1-12 and covered in printed red card. Approx. H 27cm x W 19cm.

Condition Code:4-5: No nicks, tears or cuts; pages are firmly secured; small mark on front cover. Notation hand written ink date and name of play onto of front cover, presumably by the original theatre-goer.
