This edition has the very rare and highly sought printing error of the “Quad Mark” between the “E” and “M” in Fleming’s name on the title page.
Less than 10% of the first editions have this mark before it was changed.
Book: The rare edition is in very good condition throughout. The black clothed hardback cover is very good with very little to mention by way of issues. The silver bladed dagger illustration on the front board is still in excellent condition and there are no signs of any sunning to either boards or spine. There is no rubbing and the only thing to mention is some very minor bumping at either end of the spine. The interior is exceptionally clean and clear; unmarked throughout; immaculate red end pages and binding tight. Appears to have been unread. There is a tiny mark on the title page and verso and some very minor and moderate flecks at leaf ends.
Dustjacket: This lovely rare edition comes complete with the original Richard Chopping dust jacket which is protected by a protective plastic cover. The dust jacket remains bright and vibrant, the front cover in particular is very good indeed. The spine has some minor chipping either end. The back cover has various newspaper reviews of Thunderball.
