This beautiful, rare souvenir theatre programme presents King Lear on the 10th November 1892 produced by Henry Irving. The hard board cover has protected the internal pages which contain 13 stunning plates painted by both J. Bernard Partridge and the highly revered scene painter, Henry Hawes Craven Green (otherwise known as Hawes Craven). The plates portray scenes throughout the play. The cover painting depicting a stormy scene of Stonehenge has J. Bernard Partridge’s initials in bottom right corner. The eminent cast included the renowned couple, Henry Irving and Ellen Terry.

Also contains the cast list on page 5 and the synopsis of scenery on page 7.

38 pages not including cover; approx. H16.5cms x W24cms

Condition Code: 4-5: The board cover is intact and secure and has protected the internal pages superbly. The book has hardly been opened and therefore was impossible to scan. So as not to damage the book we photographed the pages. A rare find in such good condition!
