A striking cover to this fascinating French programme; packed full of information, photographs, advertisements and a synopsis of the play not only in French but also in English and German. The play, written by Edmond Rostand (of Cyrano de Bergerac fame), premiered at this theatre on 7th February 1910. It isn’t clear if this programme is from the opening night but evidence suggests that it is from the same season.
The theatre itself has an interesting history: built in 1781, rebuilt following fire in 1873 and still open today.
36 sided-pages including front and back covers; the outside cover is card printed in red and black ink whilst the pages are black ink printed on paper. The pages and cover are tied with red string, not stapled.
