This beautiful, rare souvenir theatre programme presents King Lear on the 10th November 1892 produced by Henry Irving. The hard board cover has protected the internal pages which contain 13 stunning plates painted by both J. Bernard Partridge and the highly revered scene painter, Henry Hawes Craven Green (otherwise known as Hawes Craven). The plates portray scenes throughout the play. The cover painting depicting a stormy scene of Stonehenge has J. Bernard Partridge’s initials in bottom right corner. The eminent cast included the renowned couple, Henry Irving and Ellen Terry.
