The Sentimentalist was a new play in four acts and a prologue by the famous Mr H V Esmond. It starred the popular actor Lewis Waller as King Henry Fifth. Lewis Waller, born William Waller Lewis, 3/11/1860 – 1/11/1915 was a popular English stage actor in London Theatre and was also a successful stage manager. Over the span of his successful acting career he enjoyed playing more serious roles and often performed in Shakespeare productions. This 1901 theatre programme contains advertisements with some illustrations relevant to the decade. The cast list of the performance is spread across the centre of the internal pages, with advertisements framing each side. Date stamp dates the programme 4/11/1901 bottom right, internal right-hand page.
The programme consists of a single sheet of thin cream paper with 2 fold creating 6 pages printed in brown ink. Approx. H 22cm x W 9cm.
