The programme has a favoured Royalty Theatre design for their performance of At Mrs. Beam’s; a comedy/crime/whodunit by Irish playwright C.K. Munro otherwise known as Charles Kirkpatrick MacMullen. This show had a run of 280, with Jean Cadell’s highly praised performance as Miss Shoe.

(Jean Cadell was the grandmother to Simon Cadell, of Hi-Di-Hi fame)

The Royalty Theatre opened in Dean Street, Soho in 1840. After an unsettled start the theatre was renamed in 1861 to the New Royalty Theatre and continued relatively successfully until it closed in 1938 and sadly was demolished in 1953.
