This theatre programme presents The Smash Hit Show, direct from the Emerald Isle at the Metropolitan Theatre, Edgeware Road, London.

For one week only this variety show wowed the audiences with Irish variety acts and comedy sketches.

The original theatre-goer has made a note on the rear cover: Went to show with B….. in the Mett I really enjoyed it very good

Opened in 1836 as a concert hall known as Turnham’s Grand Concert Hall, the theatre became the Metropolitan Music Hall in 1864. Offering much variety and entertainment for 127 years it finally closed in April 1963 and was subsequently demolished to join the sad list of ‘lost theatres’.

*Footnote: Joy Brennan has her name printed incorrectly once in this programme.
