Brian Rix epitomised farce humour and during the 50s and 60s was the actor/manager of the Whitehall Theatre. He ‘gathered’ the best funny men and formed a team to produce a long running succession of farces. They were hugely popular by the public although the shows were deemed to be ‘low comedy’ by the theatre fraternity and critics.
