This rare and elegant, original c1920s poster promotes the D’Oyly Carte production, Haddon Hall.
When the Gilbert and Sullivan partnership ended in 1889, Richard D’Oyly Carte employed Sidney Grundy to collaborate with Arthur Sullivan to write Haddon Hall, a light opera portraying a local legend of Haddon Hall, the stately home in Bakewell, Derbyshire, England.
