This extremely rare ‘first printing’ 1881 theatre programme presents Mr. Richard D’Oyly Carte’s production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘Patience’ at the Opera Comique. It opened on 23rd April 1881 with the original London cast as listed. Mr. D’Oyly Carte presented ‘Patience’ at the Opera Comique for just six months before transferring it to his newly built Savoy Theatre on 10th October 1881.
