This beautiful, historic theatre programme is for a variety performance at the Empire Theatre in 1889. The acts include Dancers, Singers, Actors, Acrobats and Comedians. The cast list is presented across the centre of the internal pages (2&3) and is bordered by a variety of interesting local advertisements. The advertisements including James Buchanan & Co.’s Liqueur Scotch Whisky, Overton’s Oyster Salon and Restaurant, and Dragoumis cigarettes. The front and back covers have beautiful colourful eye-catching illustrations. The front cover, page one, has a female performer playing a tambourine and flowers are being thrown at her feet in appreciation from her audience. The back page has a picture of a woman dancing a jig with a tambourine.
The internal pages are printed in black and blue ink. The front and back cover pages (1 & 4) are printed with a colourful selection of inks.
The programme is a single piece of card with a vertical spinal fold creating a 4-page programme. Approx. H28cm x W21cm.
