This programme dates specifically to a performance on 28th November 1890. Interestingly the programme notes the first use of a ‘phonograph’ for stage purposes. Love the footnote about the theatre on the programme: “The building, it is claimed, is one of the safest in London, for it opens on to three streets, and firemen are specifically stationed at each exit”

A double folded paper programme creating 6 pages, printed in coloured ink on cream paper; approx. 21cms x 9.5cms when closed.

Condition Code: 3-4: Some nibbles to the opening edge of the programme and tiny nicks at top and bottom of the two spines; the programme is very clean with smooth pages.
