This glamourous, souvenir theatre programme presents Henry Irving’s production of King Lear. The cast is a veritable who’s who in the theatrical world of the day. This emminent cast includes the renowned couple, Henry Irving and Ellen Terry. There are 13 plates of the characters and scenes drawn by the highly revered, theatrical scene painter, Henry Hawes Craven Green, (otherwise known as Hawes Craven). These are all protected by chocolate brown, hard board covers in a glamorous optical light reflecting surface. Quite hi-tech for 1892.
