Part of highly collectable series, this is a decorative example of programme for this theatre with a very resplendent Beefeater on the front cover. The programme depicts the performance of another Arthur W. Pinero play. This one comprising 5 Acts and lasting around four hours! The St James’s hosted the first production of this play on 25th March 1897. Miss Julia Neilson, playing Princess Pannonia, was later replaced by Miss Julie Opp, a popular American actress.
