With the ornate signature design used by The Playhouse on front cover, this lovely theatre programme presents A Merry Devil, a comedy that was described as a “Florentine Farce” by the Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News on June 12th, 1909. Mr Cyril Maude strikes a dashing pose as the Lessee and Manager of The Playhouse and leading man. The advertisements offer an interesting glimpse of retail history.
