Theatre: Adelphi
Performance: Lionel Bart’s The Blitz
Principal Performers: Amelia Baynton, Bob Grant, Toni Eden, Graham Jones.
On the 8th May 1962, Lionel Bart’s Blitz opened at the Adelphi Theatre to great acclaim. The above principals lead a large cast of much singing and dancing. We’re going to the country and Mums and Dads were two of the most popular songs sung by the children of the cast. By all accounts, it was a spectacular production partly due to the dynamic and complex sets of London in the Blitz during World War II.
