This very special theatre programme presents The Girls of Gottenburg, written by George Grossmith Jr. and L. E. Bermen, performed at the Gaiety Theatre, London, 1907. The front cover is a particularly beautiful design of a pretty woman in a long dress, who is playing the harp as she sits on the bench in the outdoors with flowers in her hair with feet bare; the picture was painted by the renowned artist Hounsom Byles.

The cast list is presented across page the internal centre pages and include popular performers including Mr Lionel Mackinder, Mr J. Robert Hale, Miss Gladys Cooper.

Dame Gladys C. Cooper was born in London in 1888 and died at the age of 82 in Oxford in 1971. She was an extremely successful actress with an extensive career; some of her accomplishments include starring in both West End and Broadway Theatre, then on to Hollywood silent movies. One of her most famous and well-known roles of the actress was in her mature years when she stared with Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn, in ‘My Fair Lady’ in 1964 playing the role Mrs Higgins.

The programme is made up of a single sheet of paper with two vertical parallel spinal folds to create 6 pages including front and back cover pages. Approx. H21cm x W9cm.

Condition Code :4-5: The programme has no evidence of foxing, tears or rips. Evidence of a central horizontal fold. Overall the condition of the programme is extremely good for its age.
