The play is a festive performance of the classic story Robinson Crusoe which was performed throughout the Christmas season and brought in the New Year at the Prince’s theatre. The programme has 12 pages including covers of pale blue matt paper and black ink. On the front cover is a detailed illustration of the theatre and on page two is a cunning illustrated booking plan of the theatre’s seating layout. The centre pages present the cast list and performance details framed by interesting advertisements of the time. Every inch of the programme is bombarded by advertisement promoting jewellers, popular produce and beverages, local Bristolian sights and businesses. It is a treat to behold such a detailed programme of historical and cultural Bristolian goodies.
